On Tuesday September 27th and Thursday September 29th, we will be holding training sessions for mechanics and administrators between 2pm-5pm. All members are welcome whether or not you plan to hold a shift or not, but for mechanics who do intend to have their own shift, both attendance at both sessions is highly recommended.

To become a mechanic, you will have to demonstrate abilities to teach others basic bicycle maintenance techniques in a "hands-off" fashion. Deep technical knowledge is not a requirement but the ability to be honest about what you may not be familiar with, and express as much to our members is. We intend to hold regular sessions for those holding mechanic positions and anyone else who wishes to know more. If you are a scheduled mechanic you will be expected to attend as many sessions as you can if if you are an expert in the area, both to gain more experience teaching and to help out those that may run these sessions often.

Administrators are needed for each shift to help with all non-mechanical needs such as signing members in and out of the shop and administering sales. No prior knowledge is necessary.

Again, you will be making no commitment by attending this event. Afterwards we will discuss whether or not you wish to hold your own regular shift.
